In 2019, the group received a generous grant from the Staten Island Performing Providers System (SIPPS), to implement a 6-month health and wellness youth ambassador program that improves health care delivery by addressing the social determinants of health on Staten Island. The program employed six local youth, ages 16-20, by offering them various incentives and a scholarship to serve as liaisons while supporting community events, surveying residents, and connecting the community with health and social service resources.
